Taking Back Your Life

You’ve lost your spouse - that person who shared the breakfast table with you.  As we reach the Silver Fox age, more and more of us are living alone.  People say that you’ll adjust, but you don’t feel that you ever will.

You’re right; your life won’t ever be the same as it was married to that person.  Yet, you must accept the death and move on. It won’t be easy.  Even if you have been a caregiver for a while, you are never really prepared for the end.   You’ll need to grieve and then regroup. When you are ready, join a widows or widowers group, find a group with shared interests, volunteer or even begin to date.

Internet sites like Encouraging Voice or this one may help you to reach out again.  As time passes, you’ll gradually regain your balance.
