Are you ready to prepare for the holidays?  Since we are into August already, it’s time to think about the annual family reunion, which frequently takes place over Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.  (Yes, already!)

If you’re like me, it isn’t so much the physical getting ready, but the mental preparations that take some doing.  As a Silver Fox, I find that my children and grandchildren live at a faster pace, with different interests and knowledge.  Finding wisdom to deal with the pandemonium is harder every year!

Hints for “keeping your cool” as a parent and grandparent are needed.  Begin preparing yourself now.  The tips found at family websites are useful, no matter what age “child” you are dealing with – a 36-year-old can act like a 3-year-old when he doesn’t get his way!  Make this the year that you get along, even if you need to take that fresh air walk to cool off….in the sleet!!  Well, good intentions, anyway!
