Cooking with Herbs

After getting used to cooking for one, again, the true Silver Fox must occasionally impress a dinner guest, just to keep up appearances!  Browsing on the Internet to add a little spice to a special dinner, the topic of herbs in the kitchen came up.  Basil with its strong sweet scent sounds like it might help my cooking if I’m having an Italian over, as it symbolizes love in Italy.  However, don’t use it if you’ve invited a Greek, as they think it means hate!

After reading the description of rosemary, I might do well to hold off on it, as it sounds dangerous!  Yes, it improves memory, but cautions say that it creates a whole bunch of symptoms that you don’t want your guest to remember!

Catnip? Well… What about parsley?  Good for tea, but also might form kidney stones…Nope!

An interesting article, but maybe I’d better not spice up anything!  Just pass the salt, pepper and, of course, the butter! Or maybe, take-out.  Could I get away with “home cooking” if I hide the boxes?
