The Ups and Downs of Bipolar

Life is unpredictable.  As you deal with the changes in your life, your mood may go up or down – one day the high of ‘I have complete freedom to do whatever I want’ -- and the next day – ‘what good am I?  Nobody needs me.’  Individuals going through life changes: divorce, loss of a loved one, retirement, or disability might have tremendous mood swings.

If this behavior seems familiar to you, or a loved one needs help, you should review the symptoms of bipolar disorder. Although bipolar may have onset earlier, it could still be undiagnosed.  Articles from http://bestbipolar.com/ describe the treatment of bipolar, reviewing the ups and downs, and medications used.  The February 2008 series offers unique viewpoints of how to discuss bipolar with your child and what families can do to help.  Specific articles on drug treatment are also helpful.  While bipolar is a lifelong problem, research and treatment can make a happy, productive life possible.
